The purpose of this first annual Immigrant Integration Summit is to foster dialogue about the current challenges immigrants face in San Mateo County. We will hear stories from our immigrant residents, learn about the work being done for immigrant integration at the local, state and federal levels, and hear about innovative programs which support immigrants. From 2000 and 2010 San Mateo County’s immigrant population increased more than any other county in California. Our foreign-born residents make up more than 33 percent of the population in San Mateo County.
