The deadline has been extended until Monday, January 22, for students who wish to apply for paid environmental internships offered by the Citizens Environmental Council of Burlingame (CEC) in partnership with the City of Burlingame. The program, which is open to current high school sophomores and juniors who live or attend school in Burlingame, is designed to help motivate and nurture the next generation of environmentalists.
Students accepted into the program will explore, individually or in small teams, the sustainability of their own school’s culture and operations, and they will research best practices and innovative programs at other schools. Monthly meetings with mentors will take place during the spring and fall semesters of 2018, and a $300 stipend will be paid to each intern at completion of the program.
