They are veteran members of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, and they are
chairs of two of the county’s critical transportation agencies.
Supervisors Carole Groom and Don Horsley are here. The Game is politics, The Game is on.
Welcome to The Game.
It’s a continuing theme on our show and in the daily lives of our community: Traffic and the often frustrating challenge to simply get around. It’s just one sign of how our community is changing. Our guests today are County Supervisors Carole Groom and Don Horsley, and they are in the center of efforts to battle congestion on our roads and highways.
Carole Groom, president of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, also serves as chair of the San Mateo County Transit District, SamTrans, which runs the county bus system and manages Caltrain. She first joined the county supervisors in 2009 and she will be termed out of board service in 2022. She also serves on the powerful California Coastal Commission. Don Horsley was elected to the board in 2010 after 14 years as the elected sheriff. He also serves as chair of the San Mateo County Transportation Authority, which funds most of the critical transit and transportation projects and programs in the county. He also will be termed out in 2022.
